SHORECLUB 2013

After returning to Seattle from a two-year assignment in Hong Kong, our clients purchased property on Mercer Island with the goal to make it their permanent residence. We worked collaboratively with McCullough Architects and JayMarc Construction to create a Northwest Modern home of timeless design.

The property is perched high above Lake Washington with sweeping views of Mt. Rainier. The architecture of the home was designed to unite the interior and exterior living spaces in an organic and seamless approach. Although it was to be a modern light filled structure, it was also important to our clients that it be a warm and family centered home. With this in mind, our aesthetic goal was to let nature be our guide for selecting colors, finishes and textures while also infusing playful hues that reflected the youthful and vibrant character of our clients.

We used wide European oak planks for the flooring throughout, rift oak for the kitchen cabinets and honed white glass for the kitchen backsplash. Rich mossy greens, creams and caramel hues were layered in with textures like boucle, leather and velvet.
